Cath's Place
I've been writing with an eye for publication since I was a young lass of thirteen. However, I do distinctly remember taking little pieces of paper and making picture books about a bunny rabbit named Jemmy (a clever change from my brother "Jimmy"). I don't remember how old I was, but I definitely was old enough to write. In any case, I discovered fanfiction.net my freshman year of high school, wrote a spate of Legomances that got some notoriety, graduated high school, went to college, freaked out about my sucky Mary Sue, and took down the Legomances, much to my fans' displeasure. I write the occasional fictionpress story when I feel like it, but mostly stick to my novels that I pray get published someday. I'm getting there. Slowly but surely! I'm currently a vocal performance major, and hope to one day be singing for a living. Which is slightly more sane than writing for a living. Only slightly. I prefer classical stylings, but can be found singing a particularly hilarious Broadway showtune at the top of my lungs in the shower. I have an obsession with steampunk, too. But.. we're still working on that one, so it's in the 'early' stages of my sickness. ;-) Amongst my many other hobbies, I'm also a cosplayer. Which means, I'm even nerdier than your average fangirl. Yes, I sew and wear my favorite character's costumes, and walk around with other nerds pretending to be that character at conventions. I'm still a beginner, but all of the costumes I have made to date have been almost entirely from scratch, including drafting my own patterns. It's a source of pride with me, and I can talk almost as long about cosplaying as I do about writing and music. My favorite costume to date is my Final Fantasy VII (game version) of Tifa Lockheart. My dream is to become a classical singer who writes on the side, and gets invited to conventions all around the US, with a little bellydance thrown in. No ever said I was an underachiever!
