Darknight's Place

Welcome to my portion of the Gwethil websites. Who or what are the Gwethil, you ask? Well, we are a group of writers of fanfiction and original fiction, prose and poetry who hang out together in the virtual nonspace of Yahoo! (That exclaimation mark is there not because that is a very exciting statement, but rather because that is how Yahoo! spells its name.) To learn more about the Gwethil, check out the front page of the Gwethil site, or navigate to one of the other members' areas below.

This page is about Darknight
Luthien Tinuviel, simply because it is a great drawing.

Doubtless, you have come here from FanFiction.net, or perhaps not. In any case, it is likely that you are interested in my stories. Some people seem to like to write about how they began to write, or why they write. I am not sure if anyone is interested in such things, but it seems apropos to do so – if you don't like it, you can just skim onwards.

I have always enjoyed writing stories and reading them, and I was always very well-aware of the fact that there “is nothing new under the sun”. Even the most original of stories took other elements and blended and merged them together to make something new. Accordingly, my own honesty lead me towards fanfiction, although I do tend to write stories which have a very strong contingent of “OCs” and which expand on the established universe and personalities a great deal. I am not a huge writer of “AU” fanfiction, instead desiring to stick to the “prime directive” of fanfiction writers; put things back where you found them.

Many of my stories involve philosophy and theology, and most – if not all – are pretty much examples of “smuggling ideology” in one form or another. People say that I do that very well, and that my action scenes are good and gripping. So, you know what you are getting from me – I'm surprised I have never written any Matrix fanfiction, especially as it stars Monica Bellucci . . .

Thanks to the tireless effort of Melanie and her assistants Marchwarden Haldir and Doctor Daniel “Deadboy” Jackson of Muses 'R' Us I am assisted by a number of wonderful and highly reliable muses.

Yeah, right.

What is a muse, and what is Muses 'R' Us, I hear you ask? A muse is, very simply, a character whose job it is to help the writer write – by providing inspiration, advice or simply another pair of hands to do the dishes. Muses 'R' Us is the company founded by Melanie (and featured in “The FanFiction Fellowship” stories) which provides muses.

(The question asked at this stage by most people is; “Are you one of those sad writers who creates entire conversations between you and various fictional characters in emails among your friends?” The answer is, “Yes, of course. And you doubtless read and write fanfiction. Neither of us can claim un-geekdom, can we?”)

If you would like to learn about my muses, check out my muses page or visit Muses 'R' Us.

In the absence of orders, go find something and kill it.
