Written initially as a "thank you" to Almyra for her tireless help on "The Redemption of Sulva", Evangeline was originally intended to be nothing more than a minor character and an "in joke". However, she swiftly grew into a means to make a number of important comments on the nature of faith, Christianity and friendship. She is also slated to have a significant role in the third story in the Elizabeth Trilogy. Evangeline is "played" by Tea Leoni, as she looks a lot like Almyra.
